About this course

This beginner course teaches the durable craft of pen-and-ink illustration rather than a single artist's style. Through tool control, the conventions of weighted line, the texture systems of hatching and stippling, and the discipline of spotting blacks, you will learn to turn loose pencils into finished, reproducible line art. You will finish able to ink with a dip nib and a brush, render value and form with line texture, balance a page with solid blacks, and reproduce every technique digitally in Procreate or Clip Studio Paint.
